Mr. Salas joined Riverstone in early 2023 to continue supporting the growth of Riverstone in Mexico and Latin America. Mr. Salas is a board member of several of the key portfolio companies managed by Riverstone like Vemo, Energia Real, Em Power, among others. Prior to joining Riverstone Mr. Salas was a partner/portfolio manager of Altum Capital and head of business development. During his tenure at Altum he helped positioned Altum as one of the leading private debt funds in Mexico supporting new businesses, growing the portfolio, the team and achieving industry leading returns.
Prior to that Mr. Salas spent over 25 years in leadership positions in different banking institutions in New York and Mexico. He led the entry of Itau to the Mexican corporate and investment banking market, one of Brazil’s leading banks with international ambitions. While in NY he was the head of consumer, retail, and financial institutions Latin American groups for Citibank; before that he was the head of Latin America M&A at UBS, among other roles. Mr. Salas has been involved in several of the most innovative and award-winning investing, capital raising (both public and private) and advisory transactions in the region over the years. He has a wealth of experience in several key industries and a unique background on transaction execution and value creation strategies.
Mr. Salas has a business administration degree and a Master in finance from Anahuac University.
