Riverstone was an early mover in the region, having established an office in Mexico City with a local team as the energy market in Mexico was opening to private investment in 2014. We believe that this presence has allowed us to leverage the knowledge and experience of the wider Riverstone platform to serve as a pioneer in private markets investment within energy in the region.

Since this strategy’s inception, we have quickly scaled the business, having several notable achievements, including participating in the historic “Zama” discovery, creating Mexico’s first SPAC and developing the first dedicated private midstream company in the Vaca Muerta shale play of Argentina. With a portfolio of investments that span all subsectors within conventional and renewable energy, we are excited to continue our leadership in the region and capitalize on the prospects for the future.
